Fergus Falls is where Ben and his wife Tessa met in the 5th grade, where they’re raising their five children, and where they built two small businesses from the ground up. It’s where Ben was elected to the City Council in 2004, elected Mayor in 2016, and reelected in 2020. It’s where he coaches youth sports and enjoys the outdoors with his family.
A former small business owner, Ben owned and operated Union Pizza & Brewing Company and TÖAST in downtown Fergus Falls. As mayor, he worked to revitalize the Fergus Falls riverfront and bring local businesses back downtown. He currently works with the West Central Initiative, a regional nonprofit dedicated to economic development. And he recently wrote a well-received book called Perpich: a Minnesota Original about how small-town Iron Range dentist Rudy Perpich focused on economic development as Governor, bringing in major projects including the Mall of America.
As a leader in economic development in rural Minnesota, and with experience as a mayor and small business owner, Ben will deliver on Amy’s plan to transform state government, expand Minnesota’s economy, and create good jobs across the state. As a resident of Fergus Falls, he would be the first person elected to statewide office from Congressional District 7 in over 50 years.
I’m running for governor to take on the powerful and get things done for every Minnesotan. This is a home-grown campaign, born in a moment like no other. Will you chip in today?
